What benefits can you apply for if you have a severe disability, how can you support people with dementia?

Our expert lecturers explain these and other questions in our monthly lecture series, which was successfully launched in late 2023.

"What can I say...?" Encounter with seriously ill and grieving people (from 18:00)

When we meet seriously ill people or grieving relatives, we often feel helpless and overwhelmed. We would like to say something comforting, but we don't have the words. Everything seems stale and cheap.

How do we deal with it when we find out that our colleague at work has cancer or that his wife has suddenly passed away?

How can I show interest without sounding nosy? How can I express my compassion and willingness to help without sounding pushy? What can we say - and what is better not to say?

The talk will focus on helpful knowledge from conversation management, the value of listening and the inner attitude with which we meet people in difficult life situations. The event will be led by Christiane Pröllochs, coordinator of our outpatient hospice service.

The lectures take place in our visitor center at Edisonstraße 8 in Mannheim-Käfertal.
All interested parties are cordially invited to attend our free events.

Further dates will follow shortly.
