ASB rescue service

We help here and now. 24/7!

The rescue service of ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region is an important part of the existential basic medical care in Mannheim and the Rhine-Neckar district. Specially trained in emergency medicine, our teams provide round-the-clock emergency medical services at the Mannheim-Käfertal, Mannheim-Sandhofen, Hirschberg and Heidelberg-Rohrbach rescue stations. provide adequate assistance. In acute medical emergencies, the vehicles are requested and coordinated by the integrated Rhine-Neckar control center and the Mannheim control center.

Vehicles and medical equipment meet the high requirements of modern emergency medicine, so that patients can already receive intensive medical care on site and be stabilized for transport. The fleet of ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region includes eight ambulances (RTW), 12 patient transport vehicles (KTW), a state-of-the-art command vehicle, several emergency medical service vehicles and a drone vehicle. About 300 employees are on duty as paramedics or emergency medical technicians. Around 60 young people are trained as emergency paramedics at ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region .

Ambulances are available for sick and needy people who are not emergency patients. Trained paramedics are on standby to provide qualified medical care for trips to the hospital, transferring a sick person or bringing them back from abroad.

The drone task force expands the range of assistance and rescue services offered by ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region. It is alerted via the Rhine-Neckar control center, requested by the police, fire department or rescue dog team. The drone is used when people are missing or being searched for, in the case of larger fires to discover pockets of embers or to gain an overview in large-scale damage situations and in dangerous areas. The video from the thermal imaging camera is transmitted directly to the scene.

The training rescue station of the ASB Mannheim/Rhein-Neckar is responsible for the training and further education of the rescue specialists. To ensure that every move is made correctly in an emergency, we place the highest value on the best possible training of our emergency and paramedic staff. Every year, all employees receive a coordinated, in-house annual training course using modern simulation technology. In addition to this, we also offer external training for medical personnel with our high-quality patient simulators and competent practical instructors. For the training of our paramedics and emergency paramedics, we work closely with the Franz Anton Mai School for rescue services, the state school of the ASB Baden-Württemberg, located in Mannheim.
