Training in nursing - a profession with a future.

ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region strengthens team in the training area.

(Mannheim, 19.01.2022) Training in nursing offers many opportunities and good prospects: The ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region attaches importance to good training and supports people who are interested in a nursing profession. With Lena Krebs, there is now a contact person for anyone who wants to enter this field. The new training coordinator is herself a registered nurse, and she also completed two courses of study in applied health science and business administration. "Nursing professions have long since ceased to be classic women's professions," she emphasizes, "there are also interesting opportunities for men." Training in the nursing field is not only interesting for young people, but also for job seekers who want to re-enter the profession after a longer period of time, for second-chance education, or even for people who have come to Germany from abroad.

Good framework conditions and optimal support

Kerstin Juraschek is also a new member of the team to provide the trainees with optimum support and individual advice. She is also a registered nurse and coaches the trainees as part of their practical training. In the facilities of ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region , 27 people are currently being trained as nursing specialists. "Especially in the nursing field, there are many opportunities for further training, there are additional qualifications and opportunities for advancement," says Juraschek. With the generalized training to become a registered nurse, which was decided in 2020, the training profession will be significantly upgraded. In addition, the payment is right: "Our trainees already get over 1000 euros gross in the first year," explains Joachim Schmid, Managing Director of ASB Mannheim/Rhine-Neckar Region. The ASB also offers fair payment in accordance with the collective wage agreement, a 13th month's salary, reliable duty rosters and a laptop for the start. "However, individual support and advice are very important to us," emphasizes Schmid, "which is why we have now strengthened our staff in this area."

Close cooperation with schools and cooperation partners

With the generalized training, future nurses pass through various stations, also outside the employer's facilities. They are thus trained in inpatient and outpatient long-term care, inpatient acute care and in areas of pediatric nursing. The generalist degree is also recognized throughout Europe and offers a wide range of job opportunities. "To achieve the best for our trainees, we work closely with schools, hospitals and other cooperation partners in the region," emphasizes Juraschek.

The new nursing trainees will start on October 1, 2022; the application phase has already begun. Interested parties can contact the training coordinator Lena Krebs. L.krebs@asb-rhein-neckar.de
