How do we protect our senior citizens from the summer heat?
Summer not only brings sunshine, but also health challenges, especially for older people. In our retirement homes, we take comprehensive measures to ensure the health and well-being of our residents, even in high temperatures.
Last week, a film crew from RON TV visited our senior citizens' facility in Wiesloch to take a closer look at precisely this topic. The filming in the "Johann-Phillip-Bronner-Haus" provided an insight into our efforts to make the summer heat bearable for our senior citizens.
Facility manager Manuela John and some of our residents stood in front of the camera and shared their experiences and impressions of heat prevention measures. In personal interviews, they talked about the various measures, such as providing refreshing footbaths, offering water-rich foods such as juicy watermelons, and adapting the daily routine to make the most of the cooler morning hours. The camera team captured the scenes impressively and showed an interesting excerpt from the everyday life of our residents in high temperatures.
Thanks to the RON TV team, we are pleased that the important topic of heat prevention in care, which is of great importance for the health and well-being of senior citizens, is being brought more into the public eye.
Many thanks to everyone involved - the residents, the dedicated team at our care home and, last but not least, the RON TV team.
